Helix Giant Gradient - Nebula

65.00

Nebula is an astral-inspired 700 yd / 640 m continuous gradient starting with salmon, continuing through fiery red to rich plum, and culminating in blue violet.

The cake-dyeing technique I use to make gradients delivers brilliant and saturated colors in a range of variegated, speckled, and semi-solid effects. Each new shade of the gradient brings something new to your needles.

This cake is offered as part of a kit for Giant Gradient, Simple Shawl (last two images). The kit includes the hand-dyed gradient yarn, a U.S. size 5 / 3.75 mm x 80 cm long bamboo circular knitting needle, stitch markers, a yarn needle, and the pattern.

If you just want the yarn, leave me a message a check out and I’ll issue a refund for $5.

As with all my kits, shipping is free to anywhere in the world.

About the Pattern

Simplicity. Sometimes nothing else will do.

This deceptively simple heart-shaped shawl is designed in squishy, meditative, don’t-have-to-think-about-it garter stitch. Perfect for new knitters, soothing frazzled nerves, or when you need a project you can pick up and put down easily.

But don’t think for a moment that this shawl isn’t interesting.

With speckles and subtle variegations and color changes every few rows, the hand-dyed gradient yarn holds your interest from cast on to bind off.

As each color unfurls and reveals itself in sequence, you’ll find yourself thinking “I’ll stop after the next color change. Or maybe the one after that. Just one more and I’ll stop.”

Just don’t stay up too late knitting, ok?
